Ultimate Starts May 10th & 12th 2011

Somewhere between this blog and Facebook and good old fashioned word of mouth help spread the word on getting Ultimate off to a solid start next week. Beyond USA Ultimate membership, collecting fees for non-members and issues of liability, the key element is getting people out to play and letting spirit reign. There is a small group of people who know what to do regarding the necessary components of organization and satisfying the powers that be. Know that they are safeguarding our beautiful fields in the lush green valley of SIT and protecting all interests. Be prepared to play your small role of filling out some paperwork and $.

Getting good numbers next week and processing fees and paperwork quickly is huge - hopefully an extended wait, some good weather and knowing the disc will be in the air soon gets us the lasting results that equate to disc from May to October, in a sweet location, for a very meager fee.

Tuesday the 14th

So, nice turn out last week mostly due to an influx of new blood from the ranks from the SIT student body. Light is fading fast and "under the lights" is a question mark at this point so might as well head out and get the little bit that is left out of this season. At this time of year it helps if people reply if they are planning on coming....or not.
even 6 can get us a nice game of 4 corners.

Tuesdays at 6pm in September

Hey folks. With the waning days and numbers we are going to one day of ulti per week - Tuesday - and an earlier start - 6pm. It would be great to hear who is coming and planning to come as well. we cannot get under the lights for another three weeks at least. This give us a chance to finish strong.

Under the lights

So school is back upon us taking with all the young blood that has kept us going all summer long and it is once again time to think about moving under the lights. We a trying to get a sense of who is interested and willing to put their money where their mouth is. We need at least 10 people willing to put up $30 each to make it work and then we can start the process of dealing with the UPA and the town. Send me an email at jfolson64@gmail.com if you are interested in playing so we can get a sense of numbers. If you have friends in other places who might not get this forward it to them so we can get the word out in Keene and down south.

Playing under the lights is a beautiful thing and we would love to start in a couple weeks and run through Oct.

Old Versus Young

so i was standing in line at Hanaford the other day and couldn't help but overhear the conversation in the check out line next to mine. not sure who these people were but ultimate had obviously crept into their living room.

they were talking about how in Brattleboro the older disc players are so good that they could probably put together a squad that was twice as old as the team they were playing and win. now they had talked about the veterans spotting a few points but...and we would need a few folsk to get a sitter but....
